United Roofing Products is proud to have supplied its URP 1000/32 roofing profile for the Welsh Water Glaslyn Laboratory refurbishment project, which has been shortlisted in the 2026 Pitched Roofing Awards.
Delivered by Central Group, the project has been recognised for its high-quality refurbishment of a live laboratory facility at Welsh Water’s Cleppa Park site in Newport. The scheme utilised the Gemello® Revive over-roofing system, with the URP 1000/32 profile forming part of the complete roofing solution.
Refurbishing an operational laboratory required careful planning and execution to ensure day-to-day activities could continue safely throughout the works. By installing the new roof over the existing structure, the project delivered improved thermal performance, long-term weather protection and an extended service life, all while minimising disruption to the client.
